Opening Hours

Monday to Friday

The Centre is open for children from 8:00am to 5:45pm Monday to Friday. Opening hours are strictly observed. We are open throughout the year, with the exception of statutory holidays, two 'teacher only days' and the period between Christmas and the second week of January.

Standard fees

Full time: $225.97 per week ($451.94 per fortnight)
Part time: $49.91 per day

Fees for 3 and 4 year olds who have elected to use their 20 free hours childcare at Pipitea Childcare Centre*

Full time: $145.97 per week ($291.94 per fortnight)
4 days per week: $119.65 ($239.30 per fortnight)
3 days per week: $77.74 ($155.48 per fortnight)
2 days per week: $51.83 ($103.66 per fortnight)

All fees are paid a fortnight in advance by automatic payment. There are no part day rates or casual places available. Fees are payable for statutory holidays, family holidays, sickness or any other absences, i.e. 52 weeks of the year. Fees above apply from 11 July 2008.

*Parents are required to complete an attestation form for their 3 and 4 year olds to qualify for the 20 free hours childcare.

Who may attend

The Centre is licensed for 29 children from the age of six months. We are licensed for 10 under twos. Our staff to child ratio is:

1:3 for children under two
1:5 for children between two and three
1:8 for children over three

The Centre Provides:

The Centre provides children with snacks and fruit for morning and afternoon tea and a two-course lunch.

The Parents Provide:

Where appropriate, disposable nappies for your child
a change of clothes (labelled)

If you are a prospective client, and want to arrange a visit to the Centre, please contact Elisabeth Smith, Office Manager, between 9am and 11:30 am, for an appointment. Ph 473-2336.

The Waiting List:

It is advisable to let the Centre know about your childcare requirements well in advance. Many of our clients put their children's names on the waiting list prior to their birth! Although the Centre has 29 places there is always a great demand for quality childcare in the community. Places may not be available immediately or at specific times.

After completion of the application for enrolment form, your child's name is entered on our waiting list database. Any vacancy that occurs is filled with respect to a number of factors, such as age, gender and priority due to having a parent in the public service. Places are not filled on a "first come, first served" basis.
